I still haven’t finished writing my notes from SLEDcc, and now ALT-C is already over, and I’m on the train home… oy. Something of a record breaking day for blog entries today as I turn notes into posts, so I’ll keep it brief. This post rounds up the Sloodle related activity at SLEDcc. A case-study, new free standalone tools, and our own flash-mob stylee meeting.
Writing this on the flight home – was enjoying SLEDcc too much at the time to write about it at the time. Brief notes on selected conference highlights from the Second Life Educators Community Conference below. The weekend had a trio of powerful keynotes, mentioned in this post. A follow up post for the other highlights and comments.
The Second Life EDucation meetup at the Community Convention approaches. More details here. Many of the events will be streamed into Second Life for those unable to attend the convention in Tampa, and some events will be occuring -inside- Second Life itself.
Although at Tampa, Sunday morning will see me – along with my colleagues – giving one of the in-world presentations – “HTML on a Prim: Uses & Abuses”. 7.30am ‘Second Life Time’, 3.30pm UK time. Full in-world program here.
The fourth Second Life Community Convention will be held in Tampa, September 5th to 8th. A major part of this will be the SLEDcc - Second Life EDucation community convention. I co-chaired the education workshop last year and the year before, so I’m REALLY looking forward to this one where I get to just turn up!
If you are interested but unable to attend then fear not – a lot of activities will also be happening online. Some of the major talks will be streamed into Second Life, and a range of workshops and presentations will occur inside Second Life. The draft schedule of inworld events can be found here. Attending in-world is free, but please register to help the organisers with their planning.
